    Hi Jose,

You can find more IEC standard symbols in the online library. To be signed-in for download, click this button inside DesignSpark Electrical software (Help tab -> Online content):

Once that webpage opens, paste this link in the same tab of your browser: https://www.traceparts.com/els/designspark-electrical/en/product/cei-iec-period-limiting-switch-single-pole?CatalogPath=TRACEPARTS%3ATP02003002001005&Product=10-01092010-085897

The location of the symbol in the catalogue hierarchy can be seen here in the breadcrumb trail:

You can also search for 'CEI-IEC' standard and the symbol will be located under Generalities -> Technical drawings -> Electrical and electronics.

Download the DSE symbol file by selecting from drop-down and wait for the link to be ready.

To insert the symbol to your DSE local library, see this FAQ: https://designspark.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004080813

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Roger!
    Thank yoy for your answer.
I followed the steps of FAQ, and I got a 11-14-03.TEWZIP file to download.
However, when I try to use "unarchive" function to add the symbol to Symbol Manager Library in my program, then I get an error message (attached image) which means:
"It is not possible to retrieve this file from this interface: this is not a file of environment. There is not any "Environment" type element to retrieve".
I have unziped the file with WINRAR and I could see that content inside are:
    - an ARCHIVE.INI file
    - a directory called "Database" with many .SQLITE files

So, please, What have I to do? Can you help me?

    Thanks

    Hi Jose,

For some reason, the DWG which is the actual symbol is missing from the TEWZIP archive. This will be reported to the catalogue provider.

There is always the 2nd option of downloading only the AutoCAD DWG file from that same catalogue. Follow the original steps to be logged in to the site and then pick DWG from drop-down list.

Once it is saved to your computer, open DSE -> Library -> Symbols manager and use 'Import DWG files' option. Place it in the correct class to be able to easily find the symbol and insert to schematics.

    Best regards,

    Roger

    Hi Roger!

Thanks for your answer. I could download an AUTOCAD drawing and import it in library.
It was not an easy proccess as importing dialog is little confusing and in the end DSE put it wherever it wanted, but I could find the symbol searching with filters.

However now I get a giant symbol for the switch, crossing the full scheme, as you can see in attached hardcopy. I have been unable to decrease the size, in spite of I tried all attributes, properties and so on. Can I decrease it?

I am also wondering wether really is so cumbersome to import (many) "Unifilar" symbols in DSE and I can not believe that DSE does not have all them like standards out-of-the-box...  Is it really so, or is it my fault not founding them in library?

    Regards

    Hi Jose,

You may need to change the measurement units to 'metric'. Go to Library-> symbols manager and open this symbol's properties. In Drawing unit system, change it to 'metric' and click OK to save.

Then, try to insert the symbol into schematic again.

You can also scale using the tool in the modify tab. Enter a numeric scaling factor or drag your mouse with origin selected. See this GIF:

Some of these generic symbols were added later by catalogue provider so could not packaged with the local library at the time of DSE software release. If you are unable to find a part locally on your drive, please use the Help -> Online content section to find more. You can also open Library -> Manufacturer parts manager and click the online content link there for the extended symbols catalogue.

    Best regards,

    Roger
