I suspect the reason you haven't had an answer is because noone can reproduce your badly described scenario.

Reproducing what appears to be similar to your pictures, there is no problem pulling the edges of the box:

Perhaps if you describe the detailed steps required to create your situation, you'll get more and better answers.

    Friedrich,

Looking at your images there's a mix of Mirroring and Shelling happening, It's difficult to exactly say what's the problem and a solution as i do not know your intention

Both subjects , Mirroring and Shelling require separate studies and some practicing to become familar with.

    Try other practice bodies...

If (?) you were after this shape below, the Shell works as shown. Note the flange thickness is initially 0.1.

Shelling is a small subject in itself... It take some practice like Mirroring does.

It is most probably because the solid is a 'Shell'. If you Pull a face then the inner face will also be pulled. You can tell it is a shell because it has a moiré effect on it's surface.

To avoid this happening Copy the Solid. Delete it, Paste. The association that it was a shell has now gone.

    Jacent,

You may notice that the outer faces of the walls I am pulling in my gif are also mottled; ie. I'm pulling a shell without the same problem.

The OP is also using a mirrored structure which may be the cause of his problem; hence my suggestion that he explain in detail how he created his example.
