Really liking the constraint sketching - takes some getting used to but the additional time involved into adding / removing constraints seems worthwhile once beyond basic geometry or/ and manipulations are required. Encouraging...edit - hmm, as an exercise in sketching i find it takes too long, way to much adding / deleting and analysis of constraints to get a well defined sketch - i can do everything in the existing sketch constraint / select methods...easily, fast and with no 'analysis nor inspection' of constraint shackles..

Also, if using sketch contraints - then in advanced mode for sections, the sketch tools DO NOT ADD faces - this is one of a few ace aspects of Spaceclaim technology.

Icons too small - experimenting with Windows Magnifier and Make Text Bigger / Make Everything Bigger.

Got a single keystroke for Locate part in structure - that's very nice.

    Enhaunced shading is beautiful.

There's much more - all very encouraging.

The help-videos under the F3 key are way to small. I am 62 and have no idea what it shows on the screen.

Needs a bit of rework I think.

Henk - try Windows Magnifier, works well for those videos ( 'windows key' plus the '+key') area and scale of enlargement can be changed to suit...

I was drawing and when I put to define the hight of the box, it brought the Download 3D model folder that was opened and contunue the text box to define the hight

Tools to measure are staying closed, at 4 version when you had used these tools first time they continue open.

SKETCHING with CONSTRAINTS.- can anyone demonstrate the advantages please...

As an exercise in sketching it's quite satisfying but i find it takes too long, way to much adding / deleting and analysis of constraints to get a well defined sketch - i can do everything in the existing sketch constraint / select methods...easily, fast and without any ( all but a little i'll admit ;)  ) analysis nor inspection' of constraint shackles. DEDUCTION of constraints is very line by line, too 'peacemeal' approach.

Also, if using sketch contraints - then in advanced mode for sections, the sketch tools DO NOT ADD faces - this is one of a few ace aspects of Spaceclaim technology which i use regularly with turned components and anywhere else as no pulling is necessary.

Pinned Planes are working great !   Yay!!! love the highlighted creation definitions.

and, additional functionality with 'Planes' is much appreciated - thank you DSM /Spaceclaim creatives...

DSM 5 installs and works fine.

The decision to block loading of a DSM-5-saved file to open in DSM-4 feels a bit harsh.
At least there should be a warning "If you save now you can not open the file in DSM 4 any more" - and the option to change the name (or version).
Showing the version in the title might make sense too.

What does - still, as in DSM 4 - not work is opacity in a layer - the checkboxes do not make my parts any transparent at all.

Opacity does work...Created in original layer 0 , then moved to layer 1 - all ok. Also, created in layer 1 - all ok again.

There are 3 states of visuals: ( in V5, hovering over color or tranaparancy, the display changes before acceptance - great!)

    1) 100% Opaque

    2) 50% ( approx) Transparant

    3) A mixture of 1 and 2 as user set. To do this, select a face, change it's tranparancy level. Now, select the face again and select (style override) Solid Icon ( turning it grey), this is now mixed display. Same with transparancy, if in transparant mode, selecting transparant again will select the mixed mode.

    Transparency does not work here.
It is obviously not connected to DSM-5, so I started an extra thread here:
    https://designspark.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360012555957-Transparency-opacity-not-working-in-DSM-4-and-5

Result, in short: Transparency has to be set for selected objects via Display-Color - not on a Layer level.
