Remove Solder Resist from design

From your description, you need to inform the PCB Builder that you do not require a resist layer.

The only thing you can do from DSPCB is add a text instruction on say a documentation layer stating no resist required and of course make sure you don't send a resist Gerber layer!
Before you send your next design ask the PCB Builder the best way to specify your requirements.

That won't work. The Chinese PCB prototype firms specify that they go by Gerber files instead of text requests. But I did figure it out.

Hi Jim, to help anyone else who may have a similar need, if it was not solved by not sending the Gerber resist plot and they will not accept text instructions, how was it solved? Was it an option on their website?

The solder mask layer is negative. You would add to the mask layer with areas where you DON'T want mask. As an example, adding a 10mm x 10mm filled rectangle on the top mask layer would exclude solder mask for that area.

To exclude areas form the resist we have two FAQ's covering different requirements.

Note that openings in the resist can be added within DSPCB but automatic openings from component placement cannot.
