Hello:) New here and to the software.
I just discovered this piece of software and im wanting to learn it so i can share it with others in my 3d printing group.
I currently use sketchup pro 2019 in which i am very fluent in. i use it for mechanical design as well as structural. I am cswp BUT its been a minute since i have used that software, so i dont talk about solidworks much.
Since i am used to the work flow of SUpro 2019, i am having a slight issue with all the functions of DSM
In SUpro, the axes are always on. i like this becase i can see where my part is in 3d space. I was wondering if i can turn on the sketch grid so it is always displayed, not just during a sketch operation?
Next, in SUpro 2019, they had something called "solid tools" this allowed for intersecting faces to make cuts etc. IE, if i placed a rotated square block on the edge of another block, hit trim, it would keep the rotated block, but where it intersected the other block, it would have cut that piece off. I think in DSM its combine, but im not sure.
I want to get the correct information becasue bad practice does not make perfect:)
Oh, and can DSM produce working drawings?
