Peter - please ask a specific question - and post up an example.

DSM V5 is not an online program - working and residing local on your pc as before.

I had version 2 ( 32 bit) , version 4 ( 64 bit) and now V5. I find V5 to be faster and more robust than V4 with less freezing and slightly faster processing of patterning changes etc. Everytime ( just a couple of times, but rarely it has stopped, always auto recovery files have been made and successfully installed without any issues )

V2 to V4 i didn't see much difference as i changed to a newer 64 bit computer - agreed 64bit needs a faster pc. My pc is a mid spec workstation from 2014.

Please check your pc against the recommended system requirements.

    Hlo Tim,

Waiting time improvement is a specific question. Asking for an explanation were the calculating of the cad is being performed... On the Net or own sytem is also a legit question.

Ty for you 2nd reply. Thats the one im looking for.

It dint occur with same cad desing in previous version. Stl-to DSM dont merge all the triangles when render it to sollid. At curves many triangles. Its a normal way of processing. So i need to find out how to evenout the triangles in curved shapes or get a stronger PC ? just chequed the minimum specs...  im well above it.

I like the programs of RS... used electronic components ever since the '80. I am thechnical teacher that promote free to use technical programs ! Even develop an industrial A.I. implementation to improve the safety in the practicerooms in the schools => with your tools...GREAT

Sooooo RS.. 2 thumbs up.. I mis the yearly free fat catalogue on my schelf ; Still existing free ? Online version is not the same.

    Best regards Peter.

Use Import to load an STL file into Blender. Then use 'Add Modifier' 'Decimate'
