Can you be more specific on what you mean by 'Material'.

If you pick the solid within the component and open it's 'Properties' window, there is a drop down box of various 'materials' that you can assign to that solid. You can not assign materials to a 'component'

If you mean a 'Bill of Materials' BOM then select the Component in the structure tree, right click - Add to Bill of Materials.

    Thank you for answering.
I want the material listed in the properties to be entered in the drawing sheet through an annotation.

The easiest way is to name the 'Component' the 'Material' name. Then open a new BOM. Then add each Component to the BOM. The Name will be displayed under The 'Part Number'. Additional 'Rows' can be added and there 'Properties' can be changed, from Column type to Material Property. Then the Column Value can be changed to say 'Volume or Mass' from the drop down boxes. (That's if you have 'Assigned' a material to the 'Solid'). All info will be updated.

In DSM v5 (7232) the modeler, not the add-on Drawing module which i can't check.

The ability to add 'Material' in a 'BOM automatically' appears to not work.

not all the fields seem to populate...

There is a way to enter Material but it is not automatic and needs a manual update if altered. This is a non-prefered method !

     Is this acceptable?

    Do you need more information?

    This might be better...

The naming / terminology is inconsistent...

    Hello,
My first question is as follows, I am using a drawing sheet template like below which has fields.
I also want to have the material included automatically and this is where I have a problem.
On the example I entered it manually.

    Cordially.

    Hi.

I do not have the Drawing module...

However, the part must have a material assigned to it. Please assign a material property.

I have noticed in your drawing some dimensions have not attached correctly.

I hope you do not object to me showing these...

    regards

    Tim

Sorry to respond so late, there is no problem for the comments, following these I modified the drawing.
On the other hand, I don't have an answer to my first question and I haven't found the solution.

    Hello JP

I can't find an answer for you. I have searched within 'help' and this forum without success and i can't experiment as i don't have the Drawing module.

However, without an additional PDM product, i suspect it isn't possible even with it's parent product Ansys Spaceclaim !

This published official DSM drawing module on you tube:

only shows the adding text ( 4:24 ) to drawing sheet material box manually ,with no automatic filling / completion - so that is the answer ( i assume), it has to be done manually unfortunately...

YaPdm was a PDM product for SpaceClaim written by a swedish company. The advertising drops off around 2016 - YaPdm video's show the full drawing title block auto filling / updating amongst many other useful abilities...Spaceclaim left it to other developers with existing knowledge and perhap patents to expand their offering - a sensible approach.

    JP.

It's possible to add a piece of text within the drawing and add a 'Field' to it.

The one i have used in my example is 'File name'

See this explanation from a similar thread.

Below shows a file name methodology which can be searched / sorted by both DSM and Windows.

Please ask if you want more information.

compare the above names to the previously referenced thread, the name slight differences were corrected simply by opening the component ( from the containing design ONLY),  then  'Save as' choosing a new (amended) file name). Amended file not opened from another file will have to be replaced manually ' Source> Replace Component'

There may be some other basic variations - i'm still learning this program as well !
