  • Boss .

What about https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/counters/8158356/ it will need an external regulator as detailed in the spec doc as it's 3V only. It is also 'count up' only but that sounds what you require. Perhaps you could power from a coin cell for convenience and use another supply for the backlight?
I recall "Anders" making something similar in the distant past but they don't seem to be around anymore...
Also, try a Google search on "LCD Counter Module" for example, and then select <images> you may then visually find some alternatives that may be more suitable.

    Thanks Boss :)

That looks like what I am looking for. I am on a bugdet so how do I convert £19.50 to USA dollars, and what is "exc. VAT"?

  • Boss .

On a budget... you could probably buy a clone on eBay as it's a basic module.

VAT is a UK tax, probably you have some type of purchase tax and the price listed does not include this.

Here is the unit on the RS Americas site, $25.16:

Note that the backlight requires 5V, but as Boss points out, you need to regulate the 5V down to 3V for the counter itself.

The counter portion takes well under a milliamp at 3V, and the backlight takes 40ma at 5V.
