Hey, I'm totally new to this program, basically I just discovered "Contraint base sketching", I tried it and it works just as I would expect.

    Hope this helps.

Have looked at the online help guide?

Pick the 'Question Mark' icon at the top right of the window, or press the 'Function key with F1'.

Search for Constraints - Sketching Constraints.

    David.

Equal Distance constraint - finally got it... in it's simplest form i've made notch cut outs the same width.

    and, by replicating it again...

I like to go very light on constraints as learning how to get rid of them takes more practice than applying them !

The feedback coloring system of light blue / dark blue / black and red etc applied to curves and end points is very clever but it takes time - apply them only on a absolutely necessary basis is my opinion. However, adding a quick dim , perp or midpoint etc can be fast in getting the shape right. Getting a fully constrained profile all perfect might be satisfying, but it's going to take more time...

Can I add a question here? Constraints are lost as soon as I get out of the sketch mode, right? So, constraints are just some kind of helpers for sketching. Because as soon as you go to 3d mode, sketch plane is converted to surface and if you extrude it (pull) it is converted to solid. And there is no way to go back or to keep constraits... Do I understand well?

    Thanks for any reply!

    Milan,

Yes, constraints are 'helpers' only for sketching.

Thanks, Tim! For me this is perfect, because I'm really bad at full parametric CAD tools like Fusion 360, it is too complicated for me... Constraints in DSM is just just as much as I need them :) BR

Thanks for the help folks!  I totally missed that you have to click the green checkmark to 'save' the constraint!  Derp.
