CTRL-S after STL export does save DesignSpark file it saves STL instead
Hi,
I am facing the issue that CTRL-S does not save the DesignSpark file anymore it saves an STL. But normally export is used once and after this changes should be applied to the DesignSpark file. Is this the behaviour wanted?
I like to suggest the workflow:
- Change Model
- Export - Print - Test model
- Change Model (Save in DS format)
- Change Model (Save in DS format Again)
- Export again
- Change Model (Save in DS format)
- ...
Cheers,
Nils

Hi Nils.
Odd, here i opened a normal rsdoc file, then 'ctrl shift S', ( changed to stl file type), then modified the design, 'ctrl S' files to original and updates the original rsdoc file.
So far i can't replicate 'ctrl S' not writing to the original file.
The 'crtl shift S' always keeps to the file type last chosen.
hmm...am i missing something.
Win 10 pro.

Hi Tim,
it is very easy to replicate on my side. Perhaps you did something diffrent...so I created a short video about it. At the end you can see that the STL save message box appears a second time, thats after pressing CTRL-S again. The star at the sheet of the project is not gone then so it is not saved. The rsdoc file is not changed.
Using DS Mechnical 5 on Windows 10 64 Bit Home.
Cheers,
Nils

Hi Nils.
I was using the ordinary .stl file type as a selection and not running up the Cura software.
I have no experience using / working with Cura software.
Sorry i can't help you further.

Hi,
you are right. I testet the standard export and there it is fine. There is nothing diffrent with Cura export except that Cura is called with the STL created. So it should simply behave the same. How can I report the bug? I am using DS for 2 month and not familiar with that.
Cheers,
Nils
