I have this surface -- that finally reproduces the shape I want -- that I wish thicken to a solid:
So I made a copy 1mm away:
And now I need to fill the gap.I tried adding a couple of straight ines connecting the two corners on the right
And using the Fill tool
Not quite. So, I tried making the curved edges guide curves:
Hm. How about pull?
Looks good according to the bright green indicator lines. Full Pull:
It 'missed a few millimetres at the start of the path. (W.O.W?)
If I fill the 'gap', I'll get an edge I don't want. Maybe I can extend the edge to complete the surface?
So, add a construction line between one end of the foreshortened surface and the line where it was meant to start -- to give me a target for the Pull DIrection tool -- and Pull Upto that line:
(Oh how I hate that "Bing!") Hang on! Why is it trying to use the direction indicator as a Revolve axis?
Okay, try dragging it to the line -- not as accurate as Pull Upto, but needs must -- and
Still want to use the "Direction" line to do a revolve, but it has filled the gap, but it has left an ugly edge I don't want. (Note: the other side -- which is (or was) symmetrical -- doesn't have an edge there.)
Hm Maybe if I'd used a (say) tangent curve instead of a line? But, I cannot use a curve to set the direction for an Extend Edge; I'd have to do a Pull Path alone that curve.
But it was Pull Path that left this gap in the first place and .. dear lord.
