Internal Structure of an Object

I'm new to DesignSpark. I'm trying to design a plastic bullet for short range target practice. The bullet structure does not hold together without cross structure in the vertical x-y planes. However, when I try to close the top with a radius, it becomes a solid and the internal structure disappears. Can anyone tell me how to keep the internal structure and radius the top?

  As soon as I increase the radius on top to make the little circle go away, the bullet becomes a solid and does not print the internal cross structure.

  Pick the little circle's surface and use the 'Fill' tool.
