Making solid model from stl

Hi, I've got problem with convertion to solid model from stl. I can manage it with simple models. I think that there could be something wrong with my stl file, there is a symbol which is different with other models (visible on inserted image). Can someone help with the problem ?

  The model has too many faults to repair. see image.

  Was this created in Sketchup?

  The model has holes 'yellow lines in image' inverted normals ' Faces showing red' basically facing inside out. Faces on top of other faces,
