    Hi Valaitis,

You can't edit default reports, but you can create a new one and set it up the way you need.

OK thanks for your comment but could you explain a bit how you proceed?

Sure, what would you like to have in your report?

For example, a bill of material grouped by manufacturer part with the index page. Or components listed by class.

I don't think any grouping or sorting is available, also you would need to have all the attributes (manufacturer, class, etc.) consistent across the whole component library. The main thing here is that DSPCB (or any other PCB design software) is not good as a database for components.

If you have all the attributes you can generate BOM as is, and do further processing in Excel

I'm asking for DesignSpark Electrical. I already know how to manage with DS PCB.

Actually, I need to generate the BOM with the informations useful to my project but it is not possible to access the reports files in DSE.

Thanks all the same for trying to give me an answer Jayx ;)

I am having the same problem! I need the user information to be display in the BOM but it tells me that the Report customize manager is not like available for that version of the software! Any clue on how to do this please!!

    Hi Lavinia,

    Sorry to hear it.

But as you can see, my post has 8 months and nothing has changed, and they didn't even try. So my only advice is: either you can find in one of the available configurations to display what you need, or you find another design software. Maybe on the paying version (solidworks electrical) you can modify what you want to display, but then, if you can pay, you can find a better design software (this one is really not the best for electrical design).

Indeed, this was the answer from DS

"The reports in DSE are not configurable but there are 2 packages from the same developers which will be almost identical in use and will offer this capability. One is Elecworks and the other is SolidWorks Electrical."

So I guess I will have to start looking for quotations.

    Thanks for the help
