I too would like a little more control over the 3D rendered shapes - for example disc ceramic capacitors can't be modelled. I use the 'bead' shape, but that is too 'fat'. I've also found an issue...

Manual Routing enhancements
Hello, I recently saw this page for KiCad, and love the push-and-shove router option. Also, note the net names 'burnt into' the tracks - better than a tooltip, IMHO. http://kicad-pcb.org/disc...

I got DTs when setting the grid to 0.1" and quarter-grid, and routing to a component which was designed using a metric grid (1mm). Not sure if that helps....
