Draw one circle on the line you want to follow. Select the circle and the 'Move' tool with the option to 'Create patterns. If it is a straight line then use 'Upto' the end of the line. type in 'Count'

If it is a curve or spline then use the 'Move along trajectory' option. Drag to end of shape and 'Tab' to change values i.e. 100% , Count.

Thank you Jacant, see pic attached, i got the circles along the path but how can I make sure that they are lets say 6mm apart from each other?

It my be easier to split the path into straight lines. Using it this way will give you the options using the 'Tab' key to select the distance between copies. There is a 'Padlock' next to each option to lock the value. The other values can be changed. The overall distance will change if you use this method.

If you double-click (or drag-select) the lines making up your path with the Measure tool enabled, it will tell you the length of the path.

If you divide that by the distance you want between the circles, it will tell you how many replications you need.

But what do you want to do if the length is not exactly divisible by 6mm?
