Issue raised again: Slow zoom panning on multi-core PC - Request for DesignSpark to support properly multi-core machines
I am raising again an issue that was raised before but apparently no conclussive solution has been proposed yet.
Trying DesignSpark PCB on two PCs: On the older PC the zoom panning works fairly fast, whereas on the newer PC the zoom panning may take 2-3 seconds to occur after scrolling the mouse wheel. The configuration of the DesignSpark software has been verified to be exactly the same on both PCs.
The 2 PCs have the following in common: They use the same nvidia based graphics card (same brand, model, part number & same memory) , the same operating system (Windows 10-64 bit, same latest updates on both machines), both use Intel processors, the speed of the CPU is the same on both: 2.7GHz.
What is different between the 2 PCs: The older one uses a dual core-one thread per core (2 threads), the newer one uses a quad core - 2 threads per core (8 threads). The old PC uses 6GB RAM, the newer one uses 12GB RAM
Why is zoom panning slower on a newer machine with more resources ?. It does not make sense.!
