Same problem here. I need to output searchable schematics and I can not find how I can do it.

I saw that the exported pdf has attributes, component values, etc... But I can not use them to search component references.

    Please, help us.

You can already do this. Edit your text styles and choose from the TrueType / OpenType fonts instead of using the default <system stroke font>. The stroke font gets drawn as lines in the PDF, where as the other fonts are rendered as text, and are therefore searchable.

I would recommend making these changes in the Design Technology file for schematics, so future schematics will automatically use them.

    Thanks for the tip.

But the component description is still in <system stroke font> or?

So I have to change this also in all components?

Open up the schematic. Press shift-T (or select Settings > Design Technology from the menu).

Click on the Text Styles tab. Any changes you make to the font assigned to each style here will be applied to all parts in the schematic using that style. Click OK when done.

If you want one part in the schematic to have a different font than the others, click on text on the schematic, then right-click and choose Change Style.... You can then select a different style you have already defined, or you can type a new style name and select the font and size you want for that new style. The program will ask you to confirm that you want to add the new style.
