I created a new SMT part with NSMD pads. I tried to figure out a way to have a custom solder mask by creating a new layer with the correct attributes for oversize for the part, but found out you can't apply those types of changes to just one footprint. However, in attempting to accomplish the NSMD type of footprint I changed the default technology file and all my footprints now contain a solder mask and NSMD mask. Every part in all my libraries. I tried to go into the parts PSB editor and indeed the layers were in there, and I was able to delete them, but when I went back into the Component editor the deletions didn't happen and when I went back into the PCB part editor the layers were still there. This has corrupted all my pcb footprint libraries. I had an old version 6.0 of the default technology file and copied that to my current install directory and that got things working correctly again. So, I did a "Save Technology File" and the problem came back. I solved a second time by recopying the technology file from my old 6.0 install to my current 8.1 directory. I'm not sure if this is a fix, but I'm concerned that something is amiss. Does anyone know of a way to get my original 8.1 technology file back to it's 'default' state?
