How do I create card edge connectors without resist on the card edge fingers?

    Hi Rick, If you are assembling the board yourself and not using solder paste via a mask you can use surface-mount pads as these will not have resist on them. If you are having a paste mask produced you will end up with paste on the pads, if this is a problem then the alternative is to create a copper area of the required finger shape. This can be copied and pasted to produce the edge connector fingers.

    The copper area will by default have solder resist covering it, but an opening in the mask can be produced as detailed here.
