    Hi

We have not "lost" the old forum content.

Our intention is to continue to go through that content and bring across the key posts.

The old forum had many, many duplicates of posts with users asking the same questions. The new Support Centre and Community Forums we hope will alleviate this problem through making the questions and tutorials much more accessible and we can also now link/ create common Forum questions in the the question/ tutorials within the support centre.

    Hi Peter.

I sure hope the old forum content isn't lost. Clicking on the thread link you posted did bring up that thread, but clicking on the user JWadeHassler took me to a login screen, and after login, took me to the RS and Allied sales links.  Getting to the "Community" home page also took a round-about set of link clicks. Searching the site for forum in the search box came up empty, and searching for community came up with about three items, but none of those were links to the community home page with these forums. Big sigh. I hope they get these web design oversights fixed quick!

Great, apparently our old forum nicks and avatars also disappeared and can't be changed!

what' the point to create a new website if all the previous and important informations is gone !??

how can we get to all the old posts ?

OK, but it will take a while to rebuilt all that information in a new forum/support, until then the old forum content is not available for a new users.

The old forum was full of duplicates and not easily searchable, but I'm sure some people had links to specific questions so I hope I'll be left accessible for a while?

Finally what about nick and avatar? Seems that some have been transferred, the other haven't, and it can't be changed by the user!

    Oh boy, I am confused,

This new "forum" has only 3 posts on it, total ?

There has to be thousands of DesignSpark PCB users around the globe, so it seems unusual that there are only 3 posts !

Anyway, I'll post a question that I have and see what happens.

Hey Brad, how are you doing ?

    Best to all,

@Adam "Finally what about nick and avatar? Seems that some have been transferred, the other haven't, and it can't be changed by the user!", seems you can't change anything related to 'you' in the forum, but can in the DS website i.e. DS Home page in 'my profile'. I edited my name to first name 'Boss' last name left blank, seems like it is picking up wrong field.
I don't have an avatar so no comment there.
Think the forum will pick up when people find it  ;)

    Hi Robert,

I'm doing okay, but as surprised as everyone else about the bumpy transition to the new site, and the number of links I had to go through to find the link to the new forums. I hope it gets smoothed out soon, and that frequently used threads from the old forums get carried over. I have a number of the old threads addressing specific issues and techniques bookmarked, and I'll probably try to go print copies of them to PDF while the links still work.

I just tried updating my avatar on the main DesignSpark site to see if it then carried over to the forums here, but it did not. <sigh>

Please post issues related to the website and community to the "website forum" available from here
    https://designspark.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/topics

This will ensure maximum visibility and the correct support team will see your comments and feedback.

https://designspark.zendesk.com/hc/en-us is also a useful URL to see "a recent activity" list across the community.

Regarding the old forum, I am informed there are no short term plans to close this, posts will be copied and transferred into the Q&A's at https://designspark.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/categories/201145765-DesignSpark-PCB

Transition is bumpy and was completely unexpected! It’s disappointing, for me it just shows a complete lack of care for users. Someone may have been in the middle of a discussion, and suddenly bang, we have a new empty forum.

On the positive side, I’m glad to hear the old forum will stay open for some time so we don’t need to rush and save the old threads, but please DS/RS let us know in advance if you decide to close it!

I can't access the old forum posts. DesignSpark PCB, is the old forum already closed?

Sorry you are experiencing this, I have requested clarification on this issue.

If there is a particular topic anyone is interested in please let me know as I have saved a number of posts for conversion.
