How do I modify symbol attribute values?

You can right click on the symbol in the schematic to view these options:

Click on edit attributes to modify them:

You may find that some of the values cannot be modified here. #PARENT_TAG and #P_TAG_X, they cannot be changed from the Edit symbols attributes dialogue.

The attribute #PARENT_TAG refers to the mark of the component serving as master for the current component. In this way:

• #PARENT_TAG: Mark of the master component.
• #SHORT_TAG: Mark of the current component.
• #TAG: Full mark, formed by #PARENT_TAG + #SHORT_TAG.

These attributes are changed from the components properties dialogue.


About the attributes #P_TAG_X, these are attributes related to the connection points (they are in fact the mark of the connection point). They are edited from (i) the Edit terminals dialogue or (ii) from the manufacturer part reference associated to the component:

(i) - Right click on the symbol and select the option Edit symbol terminals, then edit the cells on the column Mark.

(ii) - Right click on the symbol, select the option Component properties and on the tab Manufacturer parts and circuits associate a part to the component.
