    This doesn't work.

I have updates turned off and rebooted several times.

I kept getting this error trying to use the MSI installer, too. DotNetFix Microsoft installer troubleshooting tools, CCleaner, none of the suggestions I found online had any effect. So instead, I right-clicked the setup.exe and chose Run As Administrator, and the installation completed successfully.

FOR WINDOWS 7 users: should you continue to face the same issue, please run the 'System Update Readiness tool' issued by Microsoft.

The 14 May entry doesn't go to the page you say it does.

The 31 May entry goes to a link, the updated fix runs, but doesn't fix the problem.

    Windows 7.

Uninstall microsoft visual c++ 2008, there might be several in the list.

    • Use Windows Installer Clean up.
    • Open regedit, find the following key:

    EFEE0228DC83E77358593193D847A0EC

    • Take ownership and rename it (keep in case of hiccups).
    • Now download and install microsoft visual c++ 2008.

    Windows services.

    • Set 'Windows Module Installer' to manual and start it.

Designspark Mechanical should now install swiftly.

I am grateful for this fantastic software, so I hope I helped you.
