How can I produce PDF files?

PDF files are useful for many purposes, they form an important step to confirm your PCB design and layout. If printed and cut out they provide confidence in the physical dimensions for fitting into an enclosure (but check out DesignSpark Mechanical for more advanced methods!) and component spacing. They also help to confirm silkscreen text size and positioning is optimal.

From the Manufacturing Plots, click on the “Auto-Gen Plots” button and select PDF.

Complete the following options form and then click “Run”. If you do not have a board outline selected, you will receive a warning. Select a board outline on the layers you require.

The PDF files will then be produced for the selected layers.

This is a silkscreen layer as an example.
