The Eagle ULP method can be problematical. It may be easier to install a later version of Eagle open your design and save in this new version. Then you can open the Eagle file directly in DSPCB V8....

I don't have a 4k display, but find I can change the grid for the task to get the best visibility. Try checking the Lines box and also choose a colour from the pull down menus, it may help on a 4k...
