    Hi Antonio,

IPC-7351C recommends to add 0.2mm to the maximum lead diameter and use 0.25mm annular ring. This will mean a hole 0.8mm for your resistor.

If i go 0.889 = 35 thou, do you think is too large ?

    Thank you very much

    Hello Antonio,

Since a larger hole gap increases the difficulty in getting a good solder fillet around the lead, obviously one needs to keep it small if possible. In your example, the recommended hole of 0.8mm = around 31.5 thou. Your prospective hole of 0.889mm or .035" is I feel well within the range of easy soldering. I have made successful solder joints where larger gaps existed.
