Include Value in BOM

First make a copy of say the RSBOM to prevent corrupting the original

Next follow these steps to edit the new report (note this shows the original rsbom, but don't edit that!)

    step two

Experiment with that, on one screen there is a 'test' button to preview results before saving.

As I mentioned, my BOM contains Value column, but it is empty even my components contain value. Is it a bug?

Martin, I think this relates to a requirement that the rsbom is generated from the schematic, the reason being that you are likely to have the schematic completed before the PCB.
Values you add to the schematic are different from the PCB, so if you select the schematic symbol of the resistor you will find "Value" empty.

Try adding a value at the schematic and then run your BOM report.
The example file Chipkit Max is a good area to test with and gives the following results.

I added the values in schematic. I generated the BOM from schematic.

It helped me to run "Forward design changes..." from schematic. Then BOM contains values. I don't understand why this is needed and I consider it as a bug.

    Hi

    DSPCB 8.2

The same issue occurring. I began by entering values into the schematic symbols. The values did not appear in BOM until I ran "Forward Design Changes".

hmmm... Looks like I gave bad advice 3 years ago. My understanding now is the BOM is generated from the PCB hence the requirement to fwd design changes.

I now use "BOM Quote" on the menu bar as I prefer the format generated, but I still always do a Forward Design Changes out of habit so don't know if it is an actual requirement for the BOM quote, but it is good practice to keep your schematic and PCB in sync.
